Hi everyone! My name is Natacha Todeschini.

I'm an artist and work mainly with photography and painting. Typologies and their collection are central to my working methods; I like to analyse and compare what surrounds me, attempting to highlight the ordinary, which can become extraordinary when isolated, observed more closely, or shifted from its original context.

In my work, there is an ongoing tension between constraint (grids, rules, protocols) and freedom (identity, poetry, fluidity, chance). I combine my attraction to grids and geometry with my interest in multiplicity and my affinity for repetition. These recurring elements run throughout my projects and place my practice within a framework of serial reflection, through which I attempt to reconcile these seemingly contradictory tendencies.

Over the past few years, I have expanded my practice into painting, where I experiment with shape, composition, and repetition. In recent months, I have been exploring this medium as a physical mechanism for confronting grief and the pain of recently losing my father. Through the recurrent painting of a systematic shape, I translate emotion into color through movement. Repetition becomes a coping mechanism for grief, oscillating between control and unpredictability, rigidity and fluidity, resulting in a continuous typology.
